Food insecurity among veterans is a crisis that rarely makes headlines, yet it affects hundreds of thousands of men and women who have served this country. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, veterans experience food insecurity at rates comparable to or exceeding the general population, with low-income veterans, those with disabilities, and post-9/11 veterans among the most vulnerable.
Economic instability is often the root cause. Many veterans face challenges transitioning from military to civilian employment, resulting in gaps in income, housing instability, and limited access to nutritious food. For veteran families, these challenges multiply — children and spouses bear the weight alongside their loved ones.
At F.F. Veterans Holistic Services, we believe no veteran family should go hungry. That’s why our food pantry operations and the Give $5 Feed 5 campaign exist — to bridge the gap between need and nourishment right here in central Ohio.
You can make a difference today. A donation of just $5 feeds five veteran families through our food pantry network.
